75 Years of Driving Innovation: Rohde & Schwarz at Mobile World Congress 2009

A new addition to the Rohde & Schwarz portfolio is the R&S CMW500 test platform for LTE and HSPA+. Extremely fast and highly precise, the R&S CMW500 is the only platform that supports wireless devices through all stages of development and production. Another exceptional product will be the latest version of the TopSec Mobile. With this voice encryption device, mobile phone users can be sure that their conversations will always be confidential. Moreover, the company will exhibit its current broadcasting and T&M products for the mobile TV market. This product portfolio supports the world's most widely used digital broadcasting standards.

In the R&S CMW500, Rohde & Schwarz is making available its first platform solution that performs all relevant wireless device tests, especially for LTE and HSPA+. When equipped with the appropriate hardware and software components, the R&S CMW500 can perform T&M tasks ranging from RF and protocol tests up to complex application tests. It handles everything from the first steps in developing a wireless device up to the final conformance test. In production, the R&S CMW500 is the optimum solution for achieving extremely high throughput. It accompanies wireless devices throughout their entire life cycle.
In addition, Rohde & Schwarz will highlight two new models of the recently launched R&S FSV family. These two combination signal and spectrum analyzers have been expanded for applications up to 13.6 GHz and 30 GHz, respectively. Users with applications in the microwave range can now enjoy features that are unique in this class – for example, top measurement speed and easy operation using a touch screen. The R&S FSV13 and R&S FSV30 excel in large part due to their sensitivity and large-signal immunity.
Rohde & Schwarz SIT GmbH, leader in the German crypto market, will display the latest version of its compact mobile voice encryption device that protects confidential mobile phone calls. The TopSec Mobile can be used together with state-of-the-art mobile phones due to its plug & play functionality and Bluetooth® interface. With it, companies and government authorities can confidently conduct tap-proof phone calls worldwide. The TopSec Mobile provides an exceptionally high level of protection because it is based on a concept that is independent of the mobile phone: The device's encryption methods are implemented in a completely separate hardware unit. As a result, the device cannot be manipulated from the wireless communications network.
